Please note: A New-Kings Neighborhood Service Provider™ (NSP) comes in one of two flavors, either a one-person, solo operation, or a larger company. The term “NSP” applies both to solo operations and larger companies. The term “SSP” is limited, and refers only to a New-Kings Solo Service Provider.™
The application fee includes publishing your company information on the NKR website, for up to a year.
For a larger company, the base application fee is $300.00. That covers two personnel who run light-roadside calls, or two service vehicles. Beyond two service vehicles, add $50.00 each.
For a New-Kings Solo Service Provider™ (SSP,) the application fee is $250.00. SSP’s who charge $49.00 per call, will pay for the whole year after six calls.

Immediately after you pay your application fee, NKR will list your initial application information on the NKR website for a probationary period of up to two weeks. During this period, each NSP should submit links to online reputation information, such as review sites and other social-media sites, for publication in the NSP’s listing.
Additionally, if your company is a New-Kings SSP, your agreement with NKR requires you to submit electronically the authentication documents, within two weeks of paying your application fee.
After that, the complete, permanent version of your listing will go live.
No. The amount you will pay for your application fee is non-refundable. When you pay for your listing, NKR will immediately begin the application-approval process. If you don’t comply with the authentication requirements, or if you are not eligible, NKR will not list you, and you will not receive a refund. It’s up to you to read everything carefully before paying.
NKR is lean and simple. There is no customer service for users, nor for pre-applicants. Pre-applicants will have to make their decision to join, based on the published information in the provider section of the NKR website.
If you are already a member, you can submit a question via email, however NKR does not warrant that you will receive an individual response. On the other hand we need your questions, which form the basis for a robust FAQ, so please submit them.
The email server auto-purges all questions that do not follow the subject-header format. Begin the subject header with your NSP code, then a space, then the single word that best summarized the subject. For example, “21212JosMam Change.”
Your NSP code uniquely distinguishes you from the other members. It is case sensitive, with no spaces. It begins with your five-digit home zip code, including any preceding zeroes, followed by the first three letters of the first word of your company’s legal name, upper and lower case, followed by the first three letters of the second word of your company’s legal name, upper and lower case. As part of the application process, NKR will determine your code and provide it to you. For example “Joseph Mamma’s Roadside Assistance Service LLC, becomes “19901JosMam.” Since the purpose of the code is to differentiate one New-Kings NSP from another, NKR will use the meaty words that make your name unique. We’ll leave out “of,” “the,” “and,” plus any words that are commonly used by many providers, including “Roadside,” “Assistance,” “Rescue,” “Repair,” “Service,” “Mobile.”
If your company is a New-Kings SSP, then yes, by default, but you can request that NKR suppress your address in your listing. If you do that, NKR will substitute the nearest major intersection to your address, such as “Bayside Dr and N Little Creek Rd.”
“Level One” (L1) means that your services are limited to the four services requested during a light-roadside, basic service call. In other words, you hook your clips to the battery and leave.
“Level Two” means that you carry a few batteries on board in the most-common BCI sizes, that you can run for a replacement tire, and that you may also have jump packs on board, available for sale. A L2 SSP maintains accounts with wholesale suppliers, and is registered to collect sales tax.
“Level Three” means that you are competent to diagnose starter and alternator issues with near 100% accuracy, that you install starters and alternators, that you provide all routine maintenance, such as brake work and fluid flushes. Also, as a L3 SSP, you are your customer’s gateway to other services, such as towing, glass, body work, and complex mechanical work.
“Level Four” means that you are a journeyman automotive mechanic, with several years of work experience under your belt, having earned your living as a full-time automotive mechanic. This person can research and diagnose most any problem presented, with any of the vehicle’s systems.
L1 is fine as a starting point, but not the place to be long-term, because there is so much more that you can provide for that customer, both on the day, and in the future. A L1 SSP often misses opportunities for earning more. It’s a challenge to build a long-term relationship, because that customer might not need service again for a year or longer.
L2 allows you to seize the moment. If the battery is five years old, and you have it on board, you save the customer an hour or more of fiddling around with finding a battery, plus you earn more for the call.
As a Level-Three Solo Service Provider™, you are the heart of NKR. All L1 and L2 SSP’s should be broadening their offerings and moving toward becoming a L3 SSP.
The more services you personally can offer your customer base, the stronger your customer relationships can be, and the more successful you can become.
Strong relationships with loyal, long-term customers, are the key to your success.
